Even the most boring details of life can become interesting if you put them in a blog... right?

Creepy Crawlies

WARNING: THIS POST INCLUDES YUCKY PICTURES.

There are some lovely things about Okinawa- warm weather, pretty beaches, tropical fishies, nice people, soba.....

There are also not so lovely things. Just when I was about to celebrate the disappearance of the cockroaches at my apartment building, I now have to worry about a different creepy crawly. Here it is:

Milipede? Maybe. Centipede? Maybe. Hopefully not the poisonous kind. (I count 52 legs.) In any case, they are yucky. One of them crawled up my shower's water pipe and came into my apartment through the drain.

They are everywhere outside my apartment!

Some of them are dead!

Many of them are not.

It's really gross at night when I can't tell if I'm stepping on them. And Christina gets really grossed out every time she comes to my apartment.

Summer- cockroaches and mosquitos
Fall- gross things with many legs

What's next? An infestation of the giant flying bats? (By the way, Okinawa has some really, really big bats. They look like huge crows.. or maybe more like flying cats. They are really big.)

you should cover all the drains and other openings to the exterior world in your bathroom, like i do. did you ever wonder why my bathroom trash can is placed directly over the shower drain? or why my b-room vent is taped over with an army`s worth of newspaper? it war amy! us against them! the creepy crawlies are unionized here in okinawa, im sure of it. we have to organize ourselves to fight back!

Gross. It's like a movie... Wonder if they will all attack on a certain day when you're sleeping... No need to panic! Yet.
