thinking about going gecko hunting

There is a gecko in my apartment. (Or maybe there are two...) I first noticed this gecko about 2 weeks ago when I was taking a shower. I was washing my hair when I saw something run very fast right in front of my feet. At first I thought it was a cockroach. It scared me! Somehow creepy crawlies are scarier when you're naked.

I didn't mind the gecko in the beginning. Despite almost stepping on it a few times, I liked having it around. It eats all the spiders in my apartment! I was fine with all the gecko droppings if it meant I didn't have as many spiders around.

But then it started making noise. Yes, geckos make noise! And it is surprisingly loud. I wake up a few times every night because of gecko noise. It's starting to drive me crazy! Every time I hear the gecko, I try to find it. Is it on the floor? Is it on a wall? The ceiling? Behind some furniture? I can't find it!! Where is it? Someone make it be quiet while I'm sleeping!

Geckos are good luck! Make sure you weigh the pros and cons before disposing of the little creature. Maybe I can help you hunt this weekend. :)

You know they make spider repellent. You could get rid of all your pests at once.

I met your gecko and liked it much better than the two cockroaches that greeted me. I'd vote to be more hospitable to this little creature, especially if it keeps the spiders away.

Love,
Martha (your mom)

By the way, who is the other person who signs her messages MOM?
