Exploring Yambaru

Yesterday Jon and I went mikan picking. Japanese people use "mikan"
to describe a variety of citrus fruits (tangerine, clementine, mandarin orange). We picked mostly clementines. For a very cheap entrance price, we were allowed to sample all the mikans we wanted from the orchard. Then we picked some to bring home. I wonder if it's possible to overdose on vitamin C. I have been eating a lot of these things lately.

We also went to the Goya Park. A bit disappointing, but we saw some hanging goyas. And some loofahs. In Japanese, they are called hechima. And they are vegetables. But where I come from, you use them in the shower. I always assumed loofahs were sea sponges!
And today I went with some friends to Peace Rock Village- a campground, cafe, and generally beautiful place. It was so relaxing that we decided we might have to go back for a camping weekend.

The food was amazing! The yellowish substance in the bowl below is fondue cheese! (rosemary chicken and mango dessert not pictured) And inside what appeared to be a Mongolian style ger was in fact a bar!

And then my friends climbed a tree.
