Could have been the Buddhist symbol for harmony...
I don't know... They were also drawing stars of David on the same page.

I would have taken the opportunity to tell the students that the symbol they were drawing was offensive and why, but it's difficult if you can't communicate fluently in another language. How did the other students react to the drawings?Mom
